The often-referenced S1W's are a likely reference to the S1W's of rap group Public Enemy. Public Enemy's front man 'Chuck D.' helped write the main theme music for the show.

James Cameron's birthday can be found as the license plate number of Max's motorcycle.

In the episode "I and I Am a Camera," Logan mentions that "the past is prologue." "Past Prologue" was the name of a "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" episode. Both shows co-starred Nana Visitor.

Season 1 begins and ends the same: "Sometimes it seems like it happened to someone else, like maybe it was a story I heard. Even though I know it happened." Max says it atop the Space Needle in the Pilot and Logan says it atop the Space Needle in the season finale.

Although both shows are listed as only having 21 episodes, they each have 22 episodes when re-aired. The first season has 21, but the pilot is approximately eighty-five minutes (twice the length of other episodes). The second season (and series) finale, "Freak Nation," is an hour and a half, which splits the episode during re-airings.

Logan's birthday is 11 November 1988.

Normal's given name is Reagan Ronald. Original Cindy's given name is Cynthia McEachon.

Sketchy's name, Calvin Simon Theodore, is a nod to the Chipmunks - Alvin, Simon, and Theodore.

The character 'Max Guevara' was ranked #17 in TV Guide's list of the "25 Greatest Sci-Fi Legends" (1 August 2004 issue).

At the end of the series finale, "Freak Nation", the shot of the transgenics raising their flag mimics the American flag being raised by US Marines on Iwo Jima.

FOX canceled the show so that why they could afford to make _"Firefly" (2002)_ - they couldn't afford to keep two sci-fi shows on the air.

The show was canceled on a cliffhanger.

Geographical error: The true Gillette Wyoming is in a sage brush desert - nothing like the forested mountains of Vancouver.

Revealing mistake: You can often see the wires when Max or Zack are running up the walls or flying around the room.

Continuity error: In "Haven" the milk in Max's glass alternates between full and half empty in between shots.

Continuity error: In "Out", it is stated that Matt Sung is Korean. In "Radar Love", it is stated that Matt Sung is Chinese.

Revealing mistake: In "Exposure", the wires are visible when the boy telekinetically lifts Max in the air.

Factual error: In "Flushed", Geneva Locke (Young Max) is mistakenly credited as Geneva Locker.

Factual error: In "C.R.E.A.M.", Geneva Locke (Young Max) is miscredited as Geneva Lock.

Factual error: In "C.R.E.A.M.", they say that they are going to play five-card stud, a game where some of the cards are played face-up. They instead play five-card draw.

Revealing mistake: In "Rising", you can see a stuntperson waiting for their cue to jump through the window to save Original Cindy.

Continuity error: In "Heat" Max and Eric ride up to the checkpoint on a clear night. As they ride away after they break through, it's raining.

Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Logan calls Alec's phone in "Borrowed Time" you can still hear the phone ringing after Alec's voicemail answers the line.

Continuity error: Logan lives in the Penthouse. But in "Female Trouble" water from his upstairs neighbor's overflowing sink drips from the ceiling.

Continuity error: In "411 on the DL", the Jam Pony gang spends the afternoon sunning at a bike ramp during a work slowdown. The shot of Sketchy from the left reveals a pile of peanuts on his stomach, but in all other shots the peanuts are missing.

Factual error: In "Exposed", Original Cindy opens Sketchy's camera, overexposing the film. Later on, the prints are all shown to be solid black. In reality, the prints would have been solid white.

Continuity error: In "Rising", Max inserts the implant into her neck under the third bar of her barcode. Later, when Logan is trying to short-circuit the implant, the prick is centered and higher up.

Spelling error: In "Proof of Purchase," when Lydecker checks out the company on Renfro's ID, the word "Demolition" is spelled "Demolitian."

The actors' names appear in barcode form in the credits before and after appearing in English.

By the way, some of those black-helicopter storm-trooper folks stopped by, asking about a transgenic teenage killing machine. I said you were out.
