Joey And The Spin-Off Series

After his friends all go their separate ways, Joey Tribianni leaves New York for Hollywood to pursue his acting career full time. His slutty sister Gina buys him a nice apartment, and he finds a new roommate in his 20-year old nephew Michael (Gina had him when she was 14), who is literally a rocket scientist. Michael's book smarts and Joey's people smarts allow them to help each other out whenever they can, and make them nice companions.

English actor Jamie Dodd has been called in six times to audition for a role on the show. They wanted him, but could not find the right character for him.

K.J. Steinberg originated the role of Gina Tribbiani (played in this series by Drea de Matteo) in the "Friends" episode "The One Where Chandler Can't Remember Which Sister".

Ashley Scott was let go in June 2004 when her character, Allison, a potential love interest for Matt LeBlanc's Joey, tested very poorly at the pilot screening in May 2004. Producers have decided to develop a new love interest.

In every episode (except the Pilot), Joey's Magna Doodle has something different drawn on it:

Episode One: A bird; looks like a phoenix rising from the fire/ashes.

Joey and the Party: A goat eating out of a garbage can, in front of the Hollywood sign.

Joey and the Book Club: A hula dancer.

Joey and the Perfect Storm: A snail saying, "Weee" as it rides on a turtle's back.

Joey and the Nemesis: A scene from Aesop's Fable, "The Fox and the Grapes." (The fox, snapping at the grapes, just out of reach.)

Joey and the Husband: A Dragon

Joey and the Dream Girl, Part 1: A cowboy riding a bomb through the air (scene from Dr. Strangelove)

Joey and the Dream Girl, Part 2: In the first scene is was the same cowboy riding a bomb that was used in the previous episode. After that, it was a killer whale jumping over someone in the water... who looked a lot like Gumby

Joey and the Big Audition: A stunt rider on a motorcycle

Joey and the Road Trip: Lilies and a hummingbird

Joey and the Plot Twist: A dog peeing on a frightened snowman, instead of on the nearby fire-hydrant

Joey and the Taste Test: Logo for Fox Motocross Gear

Joey and the Premier: A family walking beneath the night sky

Joey and the Assistant: BMX biker on a half pipe

Joey and the Tonight Show: A guy in a hospital bed; a dog sitting nearby; the number 428

Joey and the Valentine's Date: A Bulldog sitting on a chair

All episode titles begin with the words "Joey and the...".

Joey is filmed on the same sound stage that "Friends" was filmed at. Soundstage 24 at Warner Brothers studios in Burbank, CA.

Kevin Bright is the only one of the three creators that have moved on to work on "Joey." Marta Kauffman and David Crane have not continued to work on "Joey" though they still receive credit for creating the character of Joey.

Jennifer Coolidge, who plays Joey's agent Bobbie in the series, guest starred on Friends playing a different character, Amanda Buffamonteezi, an old college friend of Monica and Phoebe in "The One with Ross's Tan"

In "Joey and the Book Club" Joey sings along to "Angel of the Morning" on his Walkman. This song was also on the first soundtrack for "Friends".

Gina: I thought you and Chandler should have moved out a long time ago. It's a very vibrant gay scene.
Joey: Chandler and I are not a gay couple!
