The Ninth Doctor

* Rose (Rose & Micky) (44' 15")

Rose Tyler, a shop girl from London, stumbles across a mysterious individual called The Doctor. She tries to help as he seeks out the Nestene Consciousness, an alien who is controlling living plastic in an attempt to take over the world.

My Review: A good, fast-paced start to the revamped series.  It's good that they use one of the lesser-known old enemies of the Doctor's as Rose's intro into the world of the Doctor.  The episode echoes the most iconic moment of Spearhead from Space with aution fashion mannequins running amok.

* The End of the World (Rose) (44' 46")

The Doctor takes Rose on her first voyage through time, to the year five billion, when the Sun is about to expand and swallow the Earth. She is cautious and soon starts to question her reasons for joning The Doctor. But amongst the powerful alien races gathering to watch on Platform One, a murderer is at work. Who is controlling the mysterious and deadly metal spiders?

* The Unquiet Dead (Rose) (44' 51")

The Doctor plans to take Rose back through time to Naples, 1860, but instead they arrive in Cardiff, 1869. In Victorian Cardiff, the dead are walking and creatures made of gas are on the loose. The time-travellers team up with Charles Dickens to investigate Mr Sneed, the local undertaker, who's hiding a very big secret. However, this time, The Doctor won't be able to save everyone.

* Aliens of London (Rose & Micky) (45' 05")

The Doctor and Rose return to modern day Earth, only to find it has been a year since Rose first set off, and everyone thought she was missing, presumed dead. Whilst there, a spaceship crashes into Big Ben and lands in the Thames. Soon, all is not as it seems with the residents of 10 Downing Street.

* World War Three (Rose & Micky) (42' 58")

With the Doctor, Rose, and MP Harriet Jones trapped inside Downing Street, the Slitheen make their move: Nuclear Warfare. If the human race is obliterated, the Earth can be sold on the Galactic Black Market for a very reasonable price. It's up to the Doctor to defeat the Slitheen before the entire population of the Earth is wiped out. But will he have to make the ultimate sacrifice: Rose Tyler...?

* BBC Novel: The Clockwise Man (Rose)

In 1920s London the Doctor and Rose find themselves caught up in the hunt for a murderer. But not everyone or everything is what they seem. Secrets lie behind locked doors and inhuman killers roam the streets. Who is the Painted Lady and why is she so interested in the Doctor? How can a cat return from the dead? Can anyone be trusted to tell - or even to know - the truth? With faceless killers closing in, the Doctor and Rose must solve the mystery of the Clockwise Man before London itself is destroyed...

* BBC Novel: The Monsters Inside (Rose)

The TARDIS takes the Doctor and Rose to a disastrous destination in deep space - Justicia, a prison camp stretched over seven planets, where Earth colonies deal with their criminals. Soon Rose finds herself locked up in a teenage borstal while the Doctor languishes in a scientific labour camp. Each is determined to find the other, and soon both Rose and the Doctor are risking their lives to escape in their distinctive styles. But their dangerous plans are further complicated by some old enemies. But are they fellow prisoners as they claim, or are they staging a takeover for their own sinister purposes?

* BBC Novel: Winner Takes All (Rose & Micky)

Rose and the Doctor return to present-day Earth to visit Rose's mum, and become intrigued by the latest craze the video game, Death to Mantodeans. Is it as harmless as it seems? And why are so many local people going on holiday and never returning?  Meanwhile, on another world, an alien war is raging. The Quevvils need to find a new means of attacking the ruthless Mantodeans. Searching the galaxy for cunning, warlike but gullible allies, they find the ideal soldiers on Earth.  Will Rose be able to save her family and friends from the alien threat? And can the Doctor play the game to the end and win?

* Dalek (Rose & Adam) (45' 22")

The Doctor and Rose find themselves in an underground museum in Utah in the year 2012. The museum houses all kinds of extra-terrestrial artefacts the only living exhibit being one of the Doctor's oldest enemies - a Dalek!
