25/09/1968      The Forget-Me-Knot (Mrs. Emma Peel & Tara King)

Agent Sean Mortimer learns of a traitor in the organisation, but by the time he reaches Steed and Mrs. Peel he is suffering from amnesia and is unable to recall the information, or even his own name. Steed goes to inform his boss, the wheelchair-bound man code-named Mother, but while he is gone, the enemy take Mortimer and use their amnesia-drug to wipe Mrs. Peel’s memory. After Steed bumps into trainee agent Tara King, he returns to his flat and finds Mrs. Peel; but they are ambushed, Steed’s memory is wiped and Emma is captured. Slowly regaining his memory, Steed finds Tara’s phone number in his shoe, and uses her help to discover that the traitor is Mother's number-two, George Burton. The case solved and memories restored, Mrs. Peel receives some earth-shattering news…

 

02/10/1968      Game (Tara King)

Steed and Tara investigate the bizarre deaths of several former military officers that Steed once served alongside. Their only clues are jigsaw pieces found on the body of each corpse. While Steed checks out a jigsaw manufacturer, Tara assembles the puzzle, which eventually reveals a picture of a country house. Tracing the location of the manor, Steed and Tara discover that the murders are part of a revenge planned by a man that the officers once court-martialled; he is using his love of games to force his victims to play life-scaled games tailored to their profession - with death as the reward. Unable to save his colleagues, Steed is forced to play the final game of ‘Super Secret Agent’ in order to rescue Tara from suffocating inside a giant hourglass…

 

09/10/1968      Super Secret Cypher Snatch (Tara King)

op-secret ciphers are being leaked from the Ministry of Defence’s Cipher H.Q., despite airtight security. An internal investigation is set up, but agents seem to vanish before beginning their assignments. Steed and Tara are called in to investigate, and find photographic evidence that proves the missing agents have been at the offices - but the entire staff of Cypher H.Q. insist they have never seen them. While Steed visits the offices of Classy Glass Cleaning Co. Ltd, Tara spends an ordinary day in the office...

 

16/10/1968      You'll Catch Your Death (Tara King)

Ear, nose, and throat specialists are inexplicably sneezing themselves to death, and the only clues are plain, white, and mysteriously empty envelopes found by the corpses. While Tara is captured by the enemy, Steed talks to a stationery specialist, and learns that a nursing school ordered 10,000 envelopes, but and no writing paper. After investigating the nursing school, Steed soon discovers that the envelopes are far from empty - they actually contain a concentrated viral strain that kills the victim instantly. He manages to locate the perpetrators, but will he be in time to stop them before Tara catches a cold..?

A murder occurs inside the Ministry of Top Secret Information, despite the fact that the security there makes it impossible for an outsider to get in. After Steed and Tara investigate, a handwriting expert confirms that documents written by Ministry personnel match the handwriting of Boris Kartovski, a Soviet agent supposedly killed by Steed in Berlin in 1963. As the number of traitors and murders increases, Steed and Tara discover that Boris Kartovski is still alive, although now an invalid; and someone is transferring his personality into the minds of the ministry men and then using these involuntary traitors to commit murders from the inside…

 

30/10/1968      Whoever Shot Poor George Oblique Stroke XR40 (Tara King)

While solving a complex equation, supercomputer ‘George Oblique Stroke XR40’ is shot by an assassin, who fires both barrels of a shotgun at him at point-blank range. As George dies he it names one of his creators, Sir Wilfred Pelley, as a traitor. While a team of scientists operate on the computer, Steed and Tara investigate. After several more attempts are made on George's life, Tara goes undercover as Pelley's visiting American niece, and discovers that Pelley's butler is not all he seems…

 

06/11/1968      False Witness (Tara King)

Lord Edgefield stands accused of blackmail, but the Ministry’s case against him is called into question when the key witnesses go back on their own testimonies. Meanwhile, one of Steed's fellow agents, Melville, starts lying about the department's own covert investigation. Tara follows the clues to ‘DreemyKreem Dairies’, where Lord Edgefield has contracted a special milk delivery for all the men who can implicate him...

 

13/11/1968      All Done With Mirrors (Tara King)

Steed is placed under house arrest after secrets begin leaking from the secret government communications facility where he has been spending a lot of time. While Steed remains by the pool with Mother and Rhonda, Tara and the inept agent Watney are sent to investigate the coastal installation, but soon discover that the killers responsible are able to vanish into thin air...

 

20/11/1968      Legacy of Death (Tara King)

Immediately after inheriting an ornate dagger from an anonymous, recently-deceased benefactor, Steed is besieged by several shady visitors who are all desperate to gain possession of the dagger. One by one, these interested parties end up lying dead in Steed's drawing room; Tara takes the dagger to be appraised by a ‘Chinese’ antiques dealer, but he to becomes overly interested the item. Steed and Tara soon learn that the dagger is the key to the hiding place of buried treasure; the chase is on to find the location of the loot, but the enemy are not far behind them, and Steed’s mysterious benefactor may not be dead after all…

 

27/11/1968      Noon Doomsday (Tara King)

With his leg in plaster, Steed recovers at ‘Department S’, a high-security convalescent home. But after Tara decides to pay Steed a visit, the facility's guard is soon exposed as a traitor, and he loses the key to the defence system in the surrounding defensive minefield, effectively trapping Steed and Tara inside. When they discover that an old enemy is planning to exact his revenge against Steed at high-noon, Steed and Tara ask the other patients for help, but all but the heavily-bandaged Sunley refuse. As the 12 o’clock approaches, Steed and Tara frantically plan for the coming confrontation…

 

04/12/1968      Look- (stop me if you've heard this one) But There Were These Two Fellers... (Tara King)

The directors of ‘Project Cupid’, a ministry scheme to create an emergency underground facility for the British government in case of war, are being systematically killed. The only clue is a clown’s nose left at the scene of one of the deaths, and so Steed and Tara follow the trail to a library of registered clown-faces, whose ‘records’ are painted on eggs. Tara is captured by the murderers, two killer clowns, and taken to a rest home for out of work vaudeville acts, where she discovers that a man running a ‘Punch and Judy’ puppet stand is instructing the acts to carry out the murders in order to stop ‘Project Cupid’ from levelling some old music halls. Steed arrives at the home in the guise of ‘Gentleman Johnny’, but will he be in time to prevent Tara from being burned in half by a failed vaudeville magician wielding a blowtorch..?

 

11/12/1968      Have Guns- Will Haggle (Tara King)

Steed and Tara are called in to investigate the dramatic theft of 3,000 highly-secret, brand-new rifles. The guns have many potential buyers on the black market, including Colonel Nsonga, who plans to use the weapons to stage a political coup in his home country. When the thieves stage an auction for the guns, Steed bids against Nsonga, as he has arranged to be the representative of the Colonel's president. But unknown to Steed, Tara is imprisoned in the hut that is about to be the target for the demonstration of the guns’ deadly capabilities…

 

18/12/1968      They Keep Killing Steed (Tara King)

Steed is kidnapped by an enemy scientist named Arcos, as part of a diabolical plan to use Steed’s face to make a perfect mould for use with a quick-face-changing technique, in order to enable a double of Steed to infiltrate a top-security peace conference. But Steed knocks-out his guard, and switches both the moulds and the documentation that goes with them, with the result that five enemy agents get sent assignments to become Steed. After Tara, assisted by the suave and handsome Baron Von Curt, discovers that one of the men has died during the face-changing process, she follows the trail to the conference. As Steed after Steed arrives, Tara and Curt must stop the duplicates from disrupting the talks - but is the real Steed among them..?

After several Military intelligence officers go missing from active service, their contacts are subsequently murdered. Steed and Tara investigate, and find that each officer attended a special course run by Colonel Mannering. The aim of this course is to establish the degree to which an agent can withstand interrogation; however, Steed and Tara soon learn that the Colonel is an enemy agent, and is learning the agents’ secrets during a tea-break with them after each interrogation…

When a fellow agent is killed on the grounds of a mysterious school called the Alpha Academy, Steed and Tara investigate. Posing as husband and wife, they uncover a scheme by the organisers of the academy to train future astronauts for the purpose of conquering outer space. But their cover is soon blown, and both Steed and Tara find themselves trapped inside a deadly tunnel full of their secret fears, while the academy members hunt them down...

 

22/01/1969      Killer (Tara King)

An agent is found dead, neatly packaged in plastic-wrapping and pink ribbons, in a graveyard. Tara is on holiday, and so Steed and her replacement, Lady Diana Forbes-Blakeney, investigate. Meanwhile, one agent after other attempts to confront a deadly enemy agent called Remak; but they each end up being murdered in various ways, and are later found in the same graveyard, in the same neat packaging. Finally, Steed confronts the killer and discovers that REMAK is the ‘Remote Electri-Matic Agent Killer’ - the ultimate killing machine…

 

29/01/1969      The Morning After (Tara King)

Steed and Tara attempt to capture a quadruple-agent called Merlin, but when the tricky agent tries to elude capture by releasing a new sleeping gas on them, he too is sent to sleep. Twenty-four hours later, the trio awake, only to find the town deserted and under martial law. But while the outside world thinks that the army is there to defuse an old atom bomb found buried in an embassy building, the fake military men are in fact installing a new device as part of a plan to blow up London…

Tara learns her that uncle has been on holiday for a month, and that no one is able to contact him; deciding to investigate, she travels to the Elizabethan Hotel where he is staying in order to find him. When her uncle tells her that he and his fellow guests are all being held prisoner, Tara refuses to believe him; she tries to leave and get help, but promptly falls victim to several strange accidents which prevent her from leaving the building. Tara soon discovers that the hotel provides a unique service for certain guests: they can check in, but cannot check out - ever. In an attempt to undermine the hotel operations, Tara and her uncle take over the kitchens, but unknown to them there is a traitor in their midst...

Steed prepares to leave for a three-week holiday, but as he leaves his flat Tara arrives and informs him that he has already had his holiday. Steed has no recollection of his three-week absence, and so Father, the blind woman filling in for Mother, removes him from active duty so that he can investigate what happened during the missing period of time. Unsure whether his amnesia is benign, or a sign of something sinister, Steed soon finds that a strange oriental holds the key to his uncovering a plot to kill Mother...

When Steed and Tara intercept an exchange attempt involving a dog and a motorcyclist, they manage to grab the red attache case that was to be swapped. The case contains a large sum of money, a tape player, and a bomb as a security device. The only safe way of opening it is for Steed and Tara to follow its spoken instructions to pass it along a chain of enemy agents until it reaches its final recipient - the mastermind behind the scheme. But as Tara finds herself buried alive with a deadly decoy case, Steed is lead back to Mother...

Tara is assigned to test the security at a top-secret missile-defence system called Field Marshall – by breaking into the complex. But unknown to Tara, a villain named Zaroff is working on a scheme to frame her as a traitor, by making it appear that she is working with an enemy agent. As the evidence mounts up, Tara’s loyalty is questioned. But Steed, believing her to be innocent, investigates; it seems Tara’s innocence lies in the services of a lip-reader…

Archaeologists working on a dig underneath a 12th century church are being killed off under mysterious circumstances. The vicar is an old friend of Steed's, and asks him to investigate the strange deaths, despite the fact that he himself believes them to be supernatural in nature. Steed and Tara search the dark tunnels and discover that the deaths are being caused by deadly box-like machines with the power to eat electricity. These machines were created a foreign scientist as part of a plan to kill everyone in the country - but two of the devices accidentally escaped. Steed has to disable the box in the tunnels, while Tara finds herself trapped in her flat at the mercy of the other…

The board members of the Acme Precision Corporation are dropping dead in rapid succession. By a strange coincidence, Steed has witnessed every murder, and in each case, the killer appears to be walking in his sleep. Steed and Tara investigate, and discover that someone is manipulating these ‘murderers’ with agresso-psycho therapy, making them commit the murders for their own gain. But will Steed be the next victim before the criminal mastermind is revealed…?

When key-witness Miranda Luxton is nearly murdered, Steed is assigned to protect her. Waking up with a splitting headache, she finds herself apparently in the year 1915, in a house full of people who all address her as ‘Pandora’. Confused and bewildered, Tara eventually manages to uncover the truth: it is all part of a plot by two brothers, Rupert and Henry, whose wealthy, dying uncle Gregory has hidden a large fortune somewhere in the house as a dowry for Pandora, his wife-to-be; unfortunately, Pandora died years ago, and so Tara must take her place in order for his two nephews to discover the location of the fortune…

When two enemy agents inexplicably escape from a maximum security prison, Steed and Tara are called in to investigate. The two escaped agents later kill their assigned targets, prompting Steed to interrogate the remaining prisoner, Ezdorf, in order to discover their means of escape. But Ezdorf refuses to give anything away, and calmly announces that he, too, will soon escape - and that Steed is his target…

 

21/05/1969      Bizarre (Tara King)

A woman is found wandering through a snowy field in her nightgown, babbling about dead men who will not stay dead. Steed, Tara and Captain Carson investigate and learn that she was thrown from a train by a man leaving his coffin, which was bound for a graveyard called ‘Happy Meadows’. Steed and Tara visit the resting place and meet the man in charge, Bagpipes Happychap, who likes to make death fun. But Happychap is not much of a caretaker, as his ‘Paradise Plot’ area is filled with gravestones for deceased financiers - but empty coffins. Captain Carson investigates, only to die twice; Steed follows his trail and dies only once - and then wakes up to a life of luxury underground…
